I've officially retired.  My final shift ended at midnight on 12/30 so I finally have time.  Well the shift ended at 12/30 but there was also a bit of eating afterwards followed by a local bar and a few beers.   Yes, you're right, I have expressed an interest in becoming even more involved.

I do have a few thoughts, though.  You  mentioned the submitted articles would come with multiple images all included at the end.  I don't believe that would be the best way to publish nor would it make for avery interesting web layout.  I propose we do a web publication in the following manner:

First, I receive the submissions  in Word format with full size images included at the end, in the middle or ideally, and to simplify things, in a separate submission.  It doesn't really matter how the images are submitted - but they should be submitted in full size and full resolution format.  Ideally, images should be submitted in RAW format, but I can work with JPG, TIF or PNG or just about any other format.  After processing the images would be saved as JPG.  I'd want to prepare the final article for two forms of viewing:  HTML for viewing as a web page and PDF for downloading.  The web page viewing would make for a much quicker read because it wouldn't involve downloading an entire article before any viewing could proceed.

When you & Carla are reviewing the article, make some kind of notation (you could just say "[image 001 here]" as I just did), I demarcated it with brackets and changed the color to simplify locating the placement.  I could resize the image to an appropriate size for viewing and clicking the image would open a second web page where the reader would see the full size image.  There could be a link to view the article as a PDF file but of course that PDF file would have the smaller sized image and not the full screen size image.  The reader would then be able to download the PDF file.  The photographer's name can be watermarked onto the image (in small font in the corner, of course).

I could either load those HTML & PDF files onto the kallus.com domain for the aroid webmaster to copy or else I'd be happy to do the work of placing it onto the aroid.org domain if I am to be given access to it.  Please note that the image included in the text when viewed on the web can be any size and it can link to the separate web page where the image is any size chosen.

So ... any thoughts?
